All admins can delete contacts directly in-app, one at a time:
- Navigate to Audience tab to search for the contact
- Click the target contact to open the side panel
- Click "Delete Contact" at the bottom
- Deletion cannot be easily reversed. Please ensure correct profile is selected.
- Confirm delete after reading messages
Other ways to delete contacts:
- Tasks > find the event associated with the target contact > delete contact
- Dynamic Segments > search contact using contact attribute condition > delete contact
- Recent Activity > find the event associated with the target contact > delete contact
Expectations
- All information related to the deleted contacts are removed from the app immediately. This includes contact profile, conversation history, and past events. The contact will no longer be searchable anywhere.
- Contacts will also be removed from in-progress Journeys.
- Contacts can be created again with the same phone / email in the future. But previous history will not be restored.
- Outstanding tasks for the contact are not automatically deleted. Prior to deleting the contact, contact's outstanding tasks should be canceled. Navigate to Tasks and searching by the phone number.
