In this quick tutorial, we'll walk you through the preliminary steps you should take before using Regal.
Network Environment
Regal is only accessible through your web browser with a stable Internet connection. Please note that Regal is currently only supported on Desktop & Laptop devices - Mobile devices may experience limited functionality and/or errors. For security purposes you may need to allow Regal to access various devices and applications on your computer when prompted.
To start, we recommend that you use a wired Ethernet connection. This will ensure minimum interruption to your Regal experience. We suggest a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps when placing or accepting calls in Regal. Once you are wired to your modem, be sure to turn off your WiFi.
-
On MacOS select the WiFi icon in your control menu on the top of your screen and toggle it off.
-
On WindowsOS, right click the WiFi icon in the bottom right of your screen and disable it.
Browser
Use Google Chrome when you are logging into Regal. This is our only supported browser. You can download Google Chrome here. Regal tests our UI against the latest version of Chrome weekly - we recommend updating to new Chrome releases two weeks after their original release date.
Microphone
If you will be placing and taking calls using Regal, we recommend using a dedicated Analog headset for the best quality in your phone conversations. The analog headset plugs into the 3.5mm headphone socket on a computer. A USB port, or digital audio port headset is an okay alternative. We do not recommend using bluetooth/wireless headsets when making or receiving calls with Regal
Next, you need to allow Regal to access your microphone and send notifications about new tasks.
-
Select the three dots in the top right corner of your Chrome browser window.
-
Select Settings, and on the left side of the settings page select Privacy and Security
-
Select Site Settings, and then select "Notifications", add "https://app.regal.io/" to the list of "Allowed to send notifications"
-
Select the "<-" at the top of the page to go back to the site settings page, then select "Microphone".
-
Ensure Regal is not listed under "Not allowed to use your microphone".
-
Ensure that "Sites can ask to use your microphone" is checked.
-
Once you login to Regal, place a call to yourself and click "Allow" when prompted to allow Regal to use your microphone. Ensure that there are no call quality issues before you start accepting tasks from the queue.
-
Lastly, we recommend that you minimize activity across other websites and devices when using Regal.
